COLOR

WHEN I FIRST STARTED DOING ARTWORK, I WORKED IN PENCIL.  THEN, I LEARNED HOW COMIC BOOK ARTISTS LAID PENCILS, AND THEN INKS, AND THIS BECAME MY MAIN METHOD FROM THEN ON.  COLORS, HAS ALWAYS BEEN A CHALLENGE FOR ME.  IT WASN'T UNTIL ART SCHOOL THAT I BECAME MORE COMFORTABLE USING COLORS.  I STILL HAVE DIFFICULTY FROM TIME TO TIME, CHOOSING COLORS, BUT, IT WASN'T UNTIL I TOOK A CLASS ENTITLED COLOR THEORY, THAT MY CONFIDENCE BEGAN TO BUILD.  COLORS, ARE CRUCIAL TO ANY PIECE OF ARTWORK BECAUSE THEY CONVEY FEELING AND ALSO EVOKE RESPONSES.  IT'S MORE THAN PRIMARY COLORS AS WELL, BECAUSE NAVY BLUE DOESN'T GIVE YOU THE SAME FEELING AS AQUA BLUE.....AND THEN, THERE'S STILL VARIATIONS ON THOSE COLORS.  IT'S AN INTRICATE GAME, COLORS, BUT INTERESTING TO SAY THE LEAST.  SINCE, THEN, I BEGAN TO FEEL A BIT MORE CONFIDENT WITH PAINTING, DUE TO MY UNDERSTANDING OF COLOR.  I STILL GET HESITANT THO.  IT'S A DELICATE PROCESS, WHICH IS WHY ALOT OF TIMES, I SCAN MY WORK INTO THE COMPUTER AND PLAY WITH COLORS THERE.  IT AFFORDS ME THE ABILITY TO FUCK IT UP, IF I SO CHOOSE AND THEN CORRECT IT.  HOWEVER,  I COULDN'T IMAGINE DOING MY ARTWORK NOW, WITHOUT COLOR.  IT SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD BE LACKING.  COLOR IS LIFE.   -  925
