THAT'S BETTA

I was having a discussion last night, about becoming better. It's a simple concept. To try to be better, on a daily basis. Now, I know I have spoken on this several times, when it comes to one's dreams and goals. However, there's a better, that applies to one's self improvement as well. We know this, and usually it applies to eating healthy, working out, or going to school etc. I try to always remind people to do better. One thing, I have learned to do, and believe me, tho I learned it is still something I struggle with, and that's to think of ways to be better. We all experience different things in life, and whether positive or negative, successful or failed, a quick step back to analyze, can make you better. This can apply to anything, relationships, parenting, and even friendships. We sometimes see self improvement, as solely exclusive to ourselves, but, how we are to others, is a large part of who we are. We can apply this anytime and everyday, because, we are a long standing project.

It is never too late to be a better version of yourself. It is never too late to apologize. It is never too late to right the wrong. It is never too late, as well, to improve either. Taking into account, what works well, and then finding a way to make it better or consistent, shows that you realm care about, being a better person. Being a better person, not only for yourself, or to yourself, but, for the betterment of others. The isolation and arrogance of late, has us believing that we are to simply forgive and accept people as they are. Which, to a certain degree is somewhat true, because you desire the same acceptance and forgiveness. However, without the progression, of actually trying to be better, it is all for naught. We shouldn't simply bathe in the quicksand, that makes up our short comings. Try to be better. All the time. Some people might believe that this is a daunting task, and can be hard on a person psychologically, because they feel they are never good enough. This could be true, if you are looking at the improvement as negative, or, thru the scope of a low self esteem.

Humility is the key. Being humble, doesn't mean you claim yourself as unworthy of praise. It simply means, that you are gracious. You understand that there is room for improvement, and are thankful for the recognition, because it could have simply gone unnoticed. It could also be described as a thirst for perfection, you know, you will never reach, but, the attempt brings a certain sense of satisfaction. It's almost like acknowledging a good try. You know, you know you can and are going to accomplish what you set out to do, but, getting acknowledged for trying is good for the soul. So, not only try to improve yourself, to benefit yourself, but, to benefit others. Do better. Be better.    -  925
