BE THE ACE
Remember Ace Boogie? Ace was a good kid, who grew up in the hood, and found himself in a situation that would work in his benefit. He was smart about his newly found business venture. Everyone sees the story and remembers one thing, Ace getting robbed and shot in the end. Of course, the lesson we all walk away with in this story, is that when we get to the top, our enemies come for us. Which to a certain degree, when we ascend to the top of any field, we will face opposition, from any direction really. That's nothing new. However, a quick read of some classic literature can easily prepare you for rule, and the frequency of study, can sharpen your focus.
The main point of me bringing up this character Ace Boogie, is because Ace was rational and fair. The philosophy of Ace was that there was plenty for everyone, if we could share. The people who ended up turning on Ace in the end were the ones, who were not satisfied with what they had, or were getting. I bring this up because, so many people today, are so obsessed with global dominance. Like some megalomaniac of sorts, these people are painting themselves into a sort of self imposed martyrdom, in a quest to get to the top. First of all, just because the internet has made communication across the globe possible, however, the world is still a very large idea. Second, why the obsession with a global takeover? You realize that those who have actually, taken over the globe in their respective fields, had to start at the bottom somewhere? This is not a new concept folks, but, I digress. What made Ace a great character, was he was a good person to begin with. Even tho he became involved in an unsavory business, he retained a good, fair nature, which isn't common really. Almost all of the other characters in the movie, were not of the same mentality as Ace. You see Ace, stumbled into his good fortune so to speak, and he was cautious. He merely wanted a piece of the pie, and that is the mark of a great mind. A man who can master his greed, and grow something, to benefit more than just himself. Today, many people are so obsessed with taking the whole pie, that they end up fizzling out in a blaze of supposed glory.
I have stated before that their are no real enemies, only mankind's ego and perspectives. Ace was managing these, very well, but it ended up being the closest to him that turned on him. Why? Because of their endless greed, that couldn't be satisfied. It's hard to navigate people's minds to understand their intentions. That's why it's important to surround yourself with people of the same mind as you. Those who are humble, gracious, and satisfied, are good people to keep close, however, maintain a watchful eye so as to mind the flip when/if it comes. In my mind, I would want to be like Ace I guess you could say, and its not something I'm saying to appear righteous or valiant. I really just want to be comfortable. Not to impose on others, and still be able to compete. I see so much gluttony and greed, people steal, copy, and intentionally attempt to block a person's ascent, all in the name of having it all. It makes a person want to reconsider trying in the first place. There's nothing wrong with being better than your competition, but, attempting to destroy it, because you want their share....is just greedy. This is why the world is in the shape that, it's in. Ace had the right idea. Be like Ace. Ace Boogie. - 925
